FC Barcelona soccer player Antoine Griezmann recently launched his own esports organization called Grizi Esport, and will officially be involved in the gaming industry. The world-famous French player has made his name on teams like Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid, and now FC Barcelona as one of the best forwards in the world. Griezmann also won the World Cup with France in Russia 2018.
The organization is made by Antoine Griezmann but will be run by his brother, Theo Griezmann, who will step in as the head manager of the Grizi Esports.
Grizi Esport is looking to compete in some of the most popular games such as CS:Go, Fortnite, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and of course FIFA. All these titles will require developed rosters, so the chances of becoming a Grizi Esports player will be there almost no matter what game you are involved in.

While Antoine Griezmann is mostly known for being a soccer player, he is no stranger to gaming. Back in 2015 he was accused of buying in-game coins from a third party website, which resulted in a ban on FIFA 15. Afterwards the ban of Griezmann was revoked after a talk with EA and FIFA.
Grizi Esports will be represented by one of the biggest soccer icons in the world. This means that esports as a whole is acknowledged once again by the traditional sports world, and might result in something really big.
The Grizi Esport teams are not yet announced, but we should expect some big announcements from the organization in the near future.
Can we expect to see Antoine Griezmann attend esports tournaments?
One of the biggest questions right now is if we will see Antoine Griezmann attend upcoming gaming tournaments with his team in person, or if we will only see the Grizi Esport team members and his brother at gaming events. For many people it would be amazing to see a huge sports star at esports events.
The answer right now is, maybe. There is currently no information about how much Griezmann will be involved in the teams on a personal level, but the chance is definitely there. We already know that Griezmann loves gaming, especially sports games, so for him to be involved at live events doesn’t seem unlikely.
With that said, Griezmann is still busy with his sport, and playing for FC Barcelona should definitely be a time consumer in itself. In the past we have seen other athletes get involved in esports teams, but mainly in the background as investors. Griezmann could be one of the first stars to be a front figure for his teams, and in that way brand his organization easily.
